The worst ice storm in America!!

A freezing ice storm has visit the north east of America, it makes the power off and millions of people don't have electric because of the storm. At least 4 people died and lots of schools and houses are destroyed by the ice storm. They said that this it the strongest ice storm for the nearest 10 years, the country has declared the emergency in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and parts of Maine and New York state.

Research Reflection and the Magic School Bus

Research Reflection:
For the past month, we have been research body system on our own.

1 good thing about doing in this way is that by doing this way, we can deep understand the systems that we're searching.Because of using our own words, we can remember all the information easily can hard to forget. Sometimes we can see what other people think, and we can change what we think and change it into our own words. Sometimes we solve the problem together that we can't find or it's very hard. That's 1 good thing about doing this way.


1 thing I didn't like about this way is that I think is sometimes there are still something that we don't understand and the question only allow us to know a limit of answers. For example, some of the question in the quiz we didn't research before, so we need to go search again. That's 1 thing I don't like about it.

I think Mrs.Smith plan it this way is because I THINK she knows that this way can let us more understand the body systems that we're researching ( like the first question {1 good thing about doing in this way}) and by this way, we can use our opinion and maybe use some of the information that we already know.

1 suggestion I have for Mrs.Smith is, maybe next time we can have like some question you ready for us, and then last we can have our own research things that maybe we don't know, so we can have double research and that will make us know more.

another suggestion for Mrs.Smith is, I think next time we can work in groups so maybe we can share more information and we can know more knowledge by using this way( I think).


Magic School Bus:

—Summary:
In Magic School Bus, they went into the body and travel through digestive system, small intestine, large intestine and others.

2 thing that's incorrect in Magic School Bus are #1. Our body only need to spend few second to digestive the foods, so it's impossible for the bus to melt after 10 hours.
#2, it's impossible to have a bungee jumping on the gum.

2 thing that's correct in Magic School Bus are #1. It's possible to go back from esophagus to your mouth. #2, Our teeth help us break foods into small pieces, same with our stomach acids that helps us digestive foods.

13 years old and addicted dto caffeine?!

A 13 years girl that end up in the hospital because of drinking too much energy drink that has a lot of caffeine in it. This girl is called "Naomi", when she was 10 years old, her friend's father let her try the energy drink. After she drink it, she addicted to this kind of drink. She said after she drink the energy drink, she felt energetic and buzzing feelings. So after, she spend all the money on buying energy drinks. She buy a lot of it and even borrow money from her classmates to buy energy drinks. She will hide energy in her room but her father find them out and take them away. When she's 12 years old, she even drink energy drink PER DAY! The end of drinking too much energy drink, energy drinks make Naomi ill, and felt tired and sleepy. 1 day she collapsed after a parade and go into the hospital, doctors say that the cause of Naomi ill is because there's a thing in energy drink called caffeine. They said that it's OK for adult to drink some energy drink per day but not suitable for people that's under 16. But in some big market they won't sell energy to small kids but smaller market don't. Now Naomi go to see doctor every week to see that if her has getting better, and the doctors teach her how to relax and enjoy her life without energy drink.

Fighter Jet crash and killed 3 people!

In December 9, there is a fighter jet that's in a training mission and when he's going to land, his engine got problem. He eject from the jet before the jet crash on the land and has been take to the hospital because he's got hurt. In this crash, there are three people died include a child, 3 house are destroyed, and about 20 people need to leave here. The rescue team are finding the second child that's lost in this accident.

The fastest selling DVD in Britain-Mama Mia!

The musical movie 'Mama Mia" has become the fastest selling DVD in Britain that they sell out 1.7 milions of DVD at the first day of selling the DVDs. It breaks the record of "Titanic" in 1987 and almost reach £70 million in July.

Inda attacks is over!!

Who:Police, India,armed group.
What:On thirsday, a group of gunman attacks 7 places in india. At least 195 people died in this attack and some of the gunman died too. On friday, the police free lots of the people that hostaged by the gun man and the police also arrested suspected gunman.

When:in 2008 december 27.
Why:The gunmans do that for ,money(This is just my guess, but I think it's right).

The paper tower

This week's advisory, we're making a paper tower that see who's tower can hold in to the thing and not fall down. We only can use 4 papers, two 1 meter tape, and a scissor. But at last, our tower is disqualified because we can't hold on to the thing and the hole tower fall down.........
In this activity, I'm a community contributor because me and my team mates disgusts a very good plan to hold the tower and it tall. But at last.....because of the tape problem= =".....we don't have enough time to finish it so we're disqualified.....so next time we need to think of hole thing first and then to the thing.
Next, I'm a active learner. Because in this activity, I do the experiment, and then see is it good or bad, then I'll change it into the good 1.

Pirates!!!!!!

Who:Pirates, a huge oil tanker called "Sirius Star".
What:The oil tanker has been seized by pirates, the pirates talks to the owner of the ship and tell him what they want before they go back.
Where:In Indian Ocean, Africa-Kenya
When:can't find....
Why: The most reason of why the oil tanker will seized by the pirates is because of it size, these armed pirates seized the ship owner called "Saudi Arabia", so they can take things from the boat and go away without any people stop them.

I am a active learner because every time I have something don't know about the homework, I will ask teachers and make sure that I understand.

I am a community contributor too, because i very enjoy community service and I'm not lazy at it.

Good son of my dad and mom & person of high character: Help things you can do in your house, no bad mood (like hitting them…. bad…)

A brother & grow up: Give good thing to her, no fighting with them, take care of them.

Steps to do that:

No hurting them. Look at the people in the eye that’s talking. Say “good morning” and “hello” to every body.

Steps to do that:

Every day walking on the street, if you see people that are not very convenient, you can help them. In the school, help teacher or students take heavy things if they can’t do it them self.

1). Set a goal, how long are you going to study?
2). Beginning with the harder homework and then do the easy 1.
3).Make a time list, or use sticky notes to write down what you need to do.
4).Take away the things that will attract you(ex: toys, NDSL, games etc.)
5).Review AND preview your homework or information you learn in class.

New president=Obama=what will he do with Asia??

Few months ago,the stock market has fall down a lot, but the stock market rose up on the Wednesday when the new president-Barack Obama has elected to be the 44th president of USA. About how will Obama will help Asia there's a lot of different kinds of view, some people think he won't but some people think he will. In Singapor, a school called"Lee Juan Yew School of Public Policy" has ask about how students think about what kind of action will Obama take. There's 50 students from 20 countries and they each has different kinds of view about it.Some people think Obama would be both symbolic and policy—driven and repect every body and other people will respect him too.

3 students outcomes.

First one, I am a active learner because I ask questions in class, and I answer questions in class too.

Second one is community contributor because every time in community service, I always participants with it and enjoy the works.

Why do we need to be more organized?

I think we need to be more organized on our time is because sometimes we'll very concentrate on playing games and didn't do our homework, and organizing time is very good for your day.

What are some time management skills I can use?

I can use a time list to organize my time, so I can know what's i'm going to do next and when i'm going to do it.We can use clock too for organizing my time too.

How can goal-setting help me be more organized?

I think a goal-setting can let you know what you're going to do and you can focus on that point.

What I learned form other people's blog post??

Today during Humanities, Mr.Carpenter want us to comments on these tables blog post. The blog posts are "Reflections on blogging" and "Reflections on learning". After I read their two blog posts, I learned a lot of skills about blogging that I don't know and other skills about learning. In our tables, there are Chris, Ann-Chi, Serena, Andrew, and Wesley. They each have different skills about learning and skills about blogging, so I put all the information together and pick out the information that I don't know, that what I learned from there blog posts.

Second Chance!

I think Mr.Truchon and Mrs. Smith use red, yellow, and green for our grades because we can know that which level of our work is and how many space we can work harder.By using this kind of way to grade is easier and just a simple goal that they can reach.I think this is important for our learning because maybe the first time they have some that they don't understand, but the second chance can let them more understand about this subject or this question.

I like this kind of way because it can let me understand more(like what I said before) and it is fair for every one even the people that have bad english

I don't think I'll don't like it, because I think this is a perfect idea for every students and every teacher.

The computer games millionaire is back from outer space~

Who:The computer games millionaire called Richard Garriott
What: He paid £17 million so he can go to the outer space with Russian Soyuz TMA-13 spacecraft. In this 10 days he take photo to see the different from the last 35 years.

Why: He want to follow his father Owen Garriott that his father is spend 2 months in the outer space to take picture for the international Space station in 1973. He want to follow his father so he go to the outer space too and take pictures.
