The worst ice storm in America!!

A freezing ice storm has visit the north east of America, it makes the power off and millions of people don't have electric because of the storm. At least 4 people died and lots of schools and houses are destroyed by the ice storm. They said that this it the strongest ice storm for the nearest 10 years, the country has declared the emergency in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and parts of Maine and New York state.

Research Reflection and the Magic School Bus

Research Reflection:
For the past month, we have been research body system on our own.

1 good thing about doing in this way is that by doing this way, we can deep understand the systems that we're searching.Because of using our own words, we can remember all the information easily can hard to forget. Sometimes we can see what other people think, and we can change what we think and change it into our own words. Sometimes we solve the problem together that we can't find or it's very hard. That's 1 good thing about doing this way.


1 thing I didn't like about this way is that I think is sometimes there are still something that we don't understand and the question only allow us to know a limit of answers. For example, some of the question in the quiz we didn't research before, so we need to go search again. That's 1 thing I don't like about it.

I think Mrs.Smith plan it this way is because I THINK she knows that this way can let us more understand the body systems that we're researching ( like the first question {1 good thing about doing in this way}) and by this way, we can use our opinion and maybe use some of the information that we already know.

1 suggestion I have for Mrs.Smith is, maybe next time we can have like some question you ready for us, and then last we can have our own research things that maybe we don't know, so we can have double research and that will make us know more.

another suggestion for Mrs.Smith is, I think next time we can work in groups so maybe we can share more information and we can know more knowledge by using this way( I think).


Magic School Bus:

—Summary:
In Magic School Bus, they went into the body and travel through digestive system, small intestine, large intestine and others.

2 thing that's incorrect in Magic School Bus are #1. Our body only need to spend few second to digestive the foods, so it's impossible for the bus to melt after 10 hours.
#2, it's impossible to have a bungee jumping on the gum.

2 thing that's correct in Magic School Bus are #1. It's possible to go back from esophagus to your mouth. #2, Our teeth help us break foods into small pieces, same with our stomach acids that helps us digestive foods.

13 years old and addicted dto caffeine?!

A 13 years girl that end up in the hospital because of drinking too much energy drink that has a lot of caffeine in it. This girl is called "Naomi", when she was 10 years old, her friend's father let her try the energy drink. After she drink it, she addicted to this kind of drink. She said after she drink the energy drink, she felt energetic and buzzing feelings. So after, she spend all the money on buying energy drinks. She buy a lot of it and even borrow money from her classmates to buy energy drinks. She will hide energy in her room but her father find them out and take them away. When she's 12 years old, she even drink energy drink PER DAY! The end of drinking too much energy drink, energy drinks make Naomi ill, and felt tired and sleepy. 1 day she collapsed after a parade and go into the hospital, doctors say that the cause of Naomi ill is because there's a thing in energy drink called caffeine. They said that it's OK for adult to drink some energy drink per day but not suitable for people that's under 16. But in some big market they won't sell energy to small kids but smaller market don't. Now Naomi go to see doctor every week to see that if her has getting better, and the doctors teach her how to relax and enjoy her life without energy drink.

Fighter Jet crash and killed 3 people!

In December 9, there is a fighter jet that's in a training mission and when he's going to land, his engine got problem. He eject from the jet before the jet crash on the land and has been take to the hospital because he's got hurt. In this crash, there are three people died include a child, 3 house are destroyed, and about 20 people need to leave here. The rescue team are finding the second child that's lost in this accident.

The musical movie 'Mama Mia" has become the fastest selling DVD in Britain that they sell out 1.7 milions of DVD at the first day of selling the DVDs. It breaks the record of "Titanic" in 1987 and almost reach £70 million in July.

Who:Police, India,armed group.
What:On thirsday, a group of gunman attacks 7 places in india. At least 195 people died in this attack and some of the gunman died too. On friday, the police free lots of the people that hostaged by the gun man and the police also arrested suspected gunman.

The paper tower

This week's advisory, we're making a paper tower that see who's tower can hold in to the thing and not fall down. We only can use 4 papers, two 1 meter tape, and a scissor. But at last, our tower is disqualified because we can't hold on to the thing and the hole tower fall down.........
In this activity, I'm a community contributor because me and my team mates disgusts a very good plan to hold the tower and it tall. But at last.....because of the tape problem= =".....we don't have enough time to finish it so we're disqualified.....so next time we need to think of hole thing first and then to the thing.
Next, I'm a active learner. Because in this activity, I do the experiment, and then see is it good or bad, then I'll change it into the good 1.

Pirates!!!!!!

Who:Pirates, a huge oil tanker called "Sirius Star".
What:The oil tanker has been seized by pirates, the pirates talks to the owner of the ship and tell him what they want before they go back.

Why: The most reason of why the oil tanker will seized by the pirates is because of it size, these armed pirates seized the ship owner called "Saudi Arabia", so they can take things from the boat and go away without any people stop them.

Every day walking on the street, if you see people that are not very convenient, you can help them. In the school, help teacher or students take heavy things if they can’t do it them self.

2). Beginning with the harder homework and then do the easy 1.
3).Make a time list, or use sticky notes to write down what you need to do.
4).Take away the things that will attract you(ex: toys, NDSL, games etc.)
5).Review AND preview your homework or information you learn in class.

New president=Obama=what will he do with Asia??

Few months ago,the stock market has fall down a lot, but the stock market rose up on the Wednesday when the new president-Barack Obama has elected to be the 44th president of USA. About how will Obama will help Asia there's a lot of different kinds of view, some people think he won't but some people think he will. In Singapor, a school called"Lee Juan Yew School of Public Policy" has ask about how students think about what kind of action will Obama take. There's 50 students from 20 countries and they each has different kinds of view about it.Some people think Obama would be both symbolic and policy—driven and repect every body and other people will respect him too.

Why do we need to be more organized?

I think we need to be more organized on our time is because sometimes we'll very concentrate on playing games and didn't do our homework, and organizing time is very good for your day.

I can use a time list to organize my time, so I can know what's i'm going to do next and when i'm going to do it.We can use clock too for organizing my time too.

Today during Humanities, Mr.Carpenter want us to comments on these tables blog post. The blog posts are "Reflections on blogging" and "Reflections on learning". After I read their two blog posts, I learned a lot of skills about blogging that I don't know and other skills about learning. In our tables, there are Chris, Ann-Chi, Serena, Andrew, and Wesley. They each have different skills about learning and skills about blogging, so I put all the information together and pick out the information that I don't know, that what I learned from there blog posts.

Second Chance!

I think Mr.Truchon and Mrs. Smith use red, yellow, and green for our grades because we can know that which level of our work is and how many space we can work harder.By using this kind of way to grade is easier and just a simple goal that they can reach.I think this is important for our learning because maybe the first time they have some that they don't understand, but the second chance can let them more understand about this subject or this question.

I like this kind of way because it can let me understand more(like what I said before) and it is fair for every one even the people that have bad english

I don't think I'll don't like it, because I think this is a perfect idea for every students and every teacher.

The computer games millionaire is back from outer space~

What: He paid £17 million so he can go to the outer space with Russian Soyuz TMA-13 spacecraft. In this 10 days he take photo to see the different from the last 35 years.

Who:The stars and the French astronauts

Search Engine? or Encyclopedia?

In humanities, I mostly use CNNC(child news) to write a news articles. Because the information in that website is very detail and it's very good to understand, not like some of the website that will put a lot information on it but it's not very good to understand. I won't search on the search engine is because it's not very useful and the information it gave is mass, by using a search engine I rather to use a onine encyclopedia. The information it give us is very detail and useful. It divide it into small parts and explain them each very detail. You can find the information very easy by using a online encyclpedia. Sometime I'll find information in the book because not every information is in internet, some of the information also can find in the book and maybe you can find information that's not in internet. So the most resourse I'll use to find information will be.Books, or online encyclopedia.

India launches the first moon mission!!

Who:India and the spacecraft.

What:India launches a spacecraft to the moon to has the first moon mission. This spacecraft is going to out to the space to have a 2 year exploration mission. There's no any astronauts on this spacecraft, but there's robot on this spacecraft they'll make a 3D picture of the moon for the scientist.

Understanding- Understand means that you learn it and you can remember it very tightly, and you can also use it in your normal life.

Applying-Applying is a process that you need for learning, and a skill for doing homework and review.


Analyzing-Analyzing is to analyze things into smaller part or to separate things in to different group so it's easy to understand and review.

Synthesizing-Put knowledge that you already know all together to form a answer or to understand something.

Creating- Creating can be a blog post you create that's about what you do and it's in your OWN information and it's in your OWN words.

Reflections About Blogging

A blog is like a online journal, you write what you did or the ideas on it. Blog can be consist to videos and photos.When other people see your blog post, they can leave a comment so you can share ideas with them, and sometimes you'll see the mistake from other people's comments. By looking other people's blog, you also can learn more informations and you can comments on there blog to share ideas too. Blog is a good way to communicate with each other, like teachers can comments on student's blog post, and parents can see what there child is learning from looking at there blog post. Blog is a very fun thing to do and can make students more concentrate on it.

How to blog?

Sometimes even you know how to blog, but you'll ask yourself "How DO we blog".
Blogging can be a article that you read on a news paper, a journal about your daily life etc.
You can share the articles with each other and by learning from it.

Getting Started

When you're going to start your blog, remember that your blog can be seen by any people, so beware of your words... and.....log in and start write your blog post~!

Here are some rules and tips for you:

1.Do not write bad comments on other people's blog post.It need to be specific and in good words.

2.You CAN'T copy a article from a website newspaper( like CNN or New York times) it'sPLAGIARISM!

3.Repect other people's privacy.

4.Share your ideas with every body,

5.Imagine that you are other people and you are looking at your own blog post when you're doing your blog post.

6.When you're blogging, look at it first, find the important part and write it down.

Internet Safety:

When you're looking on other blog, sometimes there will be some inappropriate site. Close it emmediate and don't make personal comment for it. When other people want more about your personal imformation(like celephone or address), don't give them unless you know him or her very much.


Commenting on other people's blog:

Leaving comments on other people's blog is like go into there house and start conversation with the person in this house.You need to stay on the same topic that you're talking about and be specific. Like when you're going to talk about homework, but you start talking about games, you can try to make out more information about it. Same on the blog post, when your blog post is talking about global warming, and a comment ask you more about global warming . You can give him more imformation about it and share your ideas.

Learning skill

One skill use to learn in my own ways is every time when I'm solving a hard problem, I'll break them into parts and solve them and find information for each group then put all the information together and find the answer.

The other skill I use to learn is to ask question, sometimes when I don't know the answer of the question, I'll ask my Dad and mom. Then I'll find the important part of the answer and put it in my own answer

How I learn?

Everybody use different kind of ways to learn a skill, new piece of knowledge, and a new ideas. This is how I do this things.

1. Every time I play basketball, I learn different ways to dribble the ball and pass through peoples. Like I always see the bigger high school people play basketball, and I know the new skill of dribble. Like when you want to pass through people, you can change hand to dribble when you near the enemy( like when you use right hand and change to left hand very quickly so you can cross them). I also learn better way to shoot, your elbow need to be facing the basket so your ball will be right into the basket.

2.Every time I read a newspaper or read a news article on the CNN news, I'll have a new idea about my new blog post. I'll write them into my own words so other people can read it clearly, and it's a better way to understand what it's talking about.

3.In the first year I'm in ESL, i gain more knowledge about English words and about what I learn in my class( because my English is very bad so some of the information that teacher said is a little bit don't under, so ESL let me know about what I understand and the things I don't understand).

Huge wildfire in California!

What:So far in this year, there are 2 people are died in wildfire and about 12000 peoples need to leave there home and go through north of LosAngeles. More then 1000 fire fighter are been send out to stop the fire, but they said that because the wind and the grass is very easy to burn and on fire, this is a very hard work!

Why:The cause of this problem is because warm, desert winds blow into the area drying out plants and making it easier for fires to start and spread quickly.

Brazilian air force fly lost penguin back!

Hundreds of penguins have been swim a long journey to a far place, there are at least 1000 penguins that has been washed up from the Brazil's beaches this year.
Every year penguins swim north to search for foods, but normally they don't swim this far. Some penguin has made a long journey of more then 1860 miles. The Brazilian air force flown the penguin back to the south and released them back into the ocean, and some of the penguins will take navy boats to go home. The Brazilian air force is not the first time to help the penguins get home, but they said that this year has more then other years.

Becareful!!!! Poison Milk Powder!!!!!

At the left is a baby who poisoned by milk product. Over 6000 people have used the product and suffer in pain. In 2004, there's over 200 babies been poisoned by the milk powder and 12 babies died. Now the suffers injury point is still going up. Taiwan have imports 25 metric tons, so we need to be careful of the milks and other things made of milk powder.

Why Students Should Blog?

2. Can rectifies your spellings and grammars.
3. people can write what's there feelings in the blog.

What i think about other blog that's not in HIS

There blog is soooo good! They have establish many spot that we can easily see what that part of post is talking about. And they have many photos so we can see what they're talking about.
